We conducted a press release on the outdoor field of Kyushu University for the automated earth and sand transport system.

August 23, 2023, we conducted a public demonstration at the Moonshot experimental field on Kyushu University’s Ito Campus, utilizing a position estimation system based on 3D point clouds obtained from sensor pods and an automatic sediment transport system using retrofitted construction machines. The photos showcase the field environment, the estimation results from the position estimation system, and the control interface for managing the earth and sand transport tasks. This system incorporates a team formation algorithm, allowing dynamic reorganization in the event of machinery failure, enabling continuous operation.

The public demonstration was conducted based on a scenario in which a construction machine experienced a failure midway through the operation.
