An “open design” mobile robot experiment was running at Kyushu University’s experimental field.
The development group at Osaka University is developing robots that can move and work skillfully in unpredictable environments, such as disaster sites and blocked river channels. The group is developing robots based on the concept of “open design,” which is important in such environments because it allows the robot to fit in with its environment rather than fight against it.
These photos show the running of a mobile robot based on the open design developed by Osaka University at the Moonshot experimental field set up at Kyushu University’s Ito Campus.
