Preliminary test of the small robotic platforms at JAXA’s sand field.

We have conducted preliminary tests of the small robotic platforms at the sand field at JAXA. The four-legged, wheeled robotic platform possesses 12 degrees of freedom. We confirmed the basic mobility performance of the robot in sandy terrain and demonstrated a soil stiffness estimation test using a robotic investigation tool.
